Hi guys!
I am new here.
I have been riding sleds for about 10 years in northeast New Brunswick, Edmundston.
I am looking into getting a new sled this year or next year, I manly ride virgin trails and some groomed trails.
I am considering the RX-1 Mountain but people tell me it’s no good in deep snow because it weighs 600 + pounds, any one have a RX-1?
I am also considering the SXViper Mountain but people have told me it's underpowered.
I am also considering:
2004 A/C Mountain Cat 900 1M 151"
2004 Polaris RMK 800 151" and 144"
I weigh 240 pounds.
How fast is the RX-1 Mountain?
How fast is the SXViper Mountain?

Please feel free too add any comments.

And happy new years!

I have a 2003 rx-1 mtn. Yes it is heavy, and stock it does not float very well at all. Last year I was very dissatisfied with the performance in deep snow but loved the ride and power. So far I have done the following modifications.
1 Remove Sway Bar
2 Purchased lite wt. Battery from MPI and moved location of battery to just in front of steering colum above engine also removed the battery holder.
3 Removed tool box and storage box below
4 Removed Air Box and replaced w/ K&N Filters (Rejetted Carbs)
5 Replaced Stock Skis w/ Simmons
On New Years Day we took it out to the Black Hills and I was amazed w/ the performance. My wife couldn't believe it was the same machine. She has a 2002 sxViper and the power difference is uncompariable.
One mans opinion.

I put a set of c&a pro wide skis on the mtn, and it is very good in powder. It is good climbing too, just not real good in deep powder climbing mountains. Tell your dealer you are interested, but have to try one before you spend a ton of money on it. He will likely have a demo for you. They are a hoot on the trail Dont worry about your weight at all, I am 6'5 325.
