pioneer vs. maxx shock revalving

anyone have a preference? i need to send my viper shocks out for a re-valving and freshening up. i have the upgraded shocks, but i am not very heavy. they are a little harsh for me. i am looking for happy customers!
 

I have the Pioneer revalving on all four shocks. It is much better than stock, but it is still stiff. They are perfect on the huge rollers, but not as good on the 8-12" stutter bumps. I have never rode one with the factory upgraded shocks. Bruce from Pioneer is who started Maxximum perf. shock dept. I have delt with both companies and like both of them alot. Pioneer will revalve all four for them same price as rebuilding them plus like $2.50 per shock for the guts. Maxximum replaces 3 of the springs so it costs double.
 
Had great results from Pioneer. You actually talk to Bruce himself also. Pretty quick too.
As far as Maxx, I don't know.
 
I have a maxx perf long travel kit and love it, never had any work done by bruce though
 
Dealt with bruce personally,he is in my back yard and i have to say i am very satified with the long travel for my sx.im a 200 lb rider and had the shocks valved. and also he will anwser any questions you may have personally.
 
but greg mahlenbacher, from maxx is also a great guy to talk to about yamahas,but never purchased any shocks or had any work done from them.
 
I used Maxx to re-vale all four shocks on both of my SX-R’s. Cost was about $350.00 per sled and worth every penny. I rode behind a ZR900 and a F5 during a 710-mile trip from Baldwin to Gaylord and points in between two weeks ago. Those guys could not stay in their seats, and were very sore after the trip. I felt fine and rode another 100 miles more the next day. Also broke my “W’ arm sometime during the trip and had an oil fire under the hood, both caused by operator error.
 
those W-arms are weak in stock form but are real easy to strengthen up, especially if it wasn't twisted when it broke. If it just cracked, you can weld it up good and put some gussets in it and if you do a good job it wont break again. Suspension set up is key as well, because bottoming of the front arm is what causes the breakage (too much weight transfer will allow the front arm to move independently of the rear, and allow bottoming more easily)
 
dont know what you weigh, but I am 150lbs and just had all of the shocks on my 03 viper redone and it rides pretty nice. pretty smooth, outrides the 03 vmax that is in the garage now, and still handles large bumps pretty good :) hope this helps

Arm broke clean (no twisting), snapped one square tube completely in-half just after the lower cross brace (right side). Had an auto repair place across the street form were I work weld it back together for me, in time for last weekend. Did not add any gussets, I'll see if I can get another 8,400 miles on it before it breaks again.
