Stud length..... how long are you?

I was looking to replace some of the studs on my sled with new ones. I was just wondering where, when specifying the length such as 1.000", is that length measured from? From the base of the stud to the tip or is it the thread length to tip ect.... I have one I had measured and it sure looks like it is a 1.000" stud but just wanted to make sure I am taking the right measurement.

They are measured from the top of the backer to the tip.
