Looking at a2005 venture 500xl fan cooled touring sled this past winter in our local yamaha dealer.Has anyone used one to haul firewood or large sleds. The tunnel is reinforced to the hitch so i know the chassis can take it but can the motor and trans match or bet our beloved 410trw enticer.Guy at our dealer said it cant bet the 410,and the gearing is not as low as the 410.I would like to know if its a worthy replacenment or is it a plain touring sled. The VKIII is to big and the bravo is to small(the 410 replaced our bravoLT).

probably do the job not bad if the gearing was close. i know my sxr cant crawl as good as my et410 when we makin trails.

Really like our ET410 for breaking trail and hauling firewood. Rock solid with nearly 10 000miles. But when the ET goes down in the deep stuff, I've watched my brother on the warrior circle me and motor on by. The warrior crawls as good or better than the ET, really impressive. My local dealer said there is supposed to be a 4-stroke replacement for the ET coming in 07.

Why not just wait for the new Viking to come out next year? They already have it outside of the United States, so Id bet we will get a new utility sled for '07.
A 4-stroke would be much better for low-rpm putt-putt riding than a 2-stroke.

still have the stock track on it?

bet if you put a ripsaw on it it would make the warrior work harder to do that. im trin a different approach 1st on mine. retrofittin a sxr/viper rear skid into mine to make it 11.5" of travel with stock track. usually when i get bogged down in the powder it is hung up by the runnin boards and the track is spinnin free. thinkin about puttin ripsaw on it too so i can donate the stock track slider set to my brothers longtrack ss440 progect.

Still has original track, with a few crack here and there.I suggested putting the pro-action in a enticerII at a dealer show for yamaha in 2003,they said it was a good idea.Heard one local dealer say he seen a enticerII with over 30000KMs on it.Is there any specific problem to look for as these sleds get up in age?

from what i remeber of the older ones just regular maintenace. mine only has 4000km on it so far but it is only the 2nd enticer we have had with spedo on it. just check your rivets and bolts regularly and it will be fine. check the one for the scicor behind the rearmost small idler. if it has taken some hard landings it might be broken. had to change the one on mine after we went drift bustin one night. those little air cools are hard to kill if they have proper settings and take a hell of a lot of abuse. its kinda hard to predict what is gonna let go cause we all ride em different.

I know my 99 Venture XL was a great sled but would get stuck in the driveway with the stock track! But it was easy to drag around because there weren't any lugs to get in the way!! ;)!
