Does anyone know if there is any crab mods for an 84 Phazer?
I siezed it @ 15 MPH. After she cooled it run again but @ around 5000 rpm
I can crack the choke and it likes it. Just how much & were should I go after
I try the pilot ( it has 95 i'm going to 100 ). Is there a mod for midrange?
Does anyone know the set up in .001, increments between these two?
I need HELP
Thanks

I dont quite understand what you are saying.Do you have the 2 rubber plugs in the right place. on that model there should be one in the center hole and one covering the pilot jet .If not it will sh%t

I need to know the best way to richen the midrange.
Yes' Blue Divel I have both rubber plugs in the center & pilot.
When I give it a little choke @ 5k it likes the extra fuel, how should I ricken it?
It has a pipe, reeds & 155 high speed jet, runs great 50-90 mph, but just not slow.
Thanks

Sounds like you may need a different air jet for mid range running, if that is the main problem area.

your choke does not add more fuel but restricts the air flow in the carb. make sure that you dont have a vacuum leak at carb boot or crank seal, etc.. using the choke often indicate a vacuum leak at lower speeds.

you need to do the carb mod that is listed in the tech pages. Or put a set of flatslides off a vmax twin on it.

there is a old trick of drilling out the feed holes for the jets, this lets it supply more fuel for the bigger jets, thats the problem, it only happens when you mod them and need bigger jets. I will have to see if I still have the notes on them, I used to do this when we ported them and had to spin them hard. If you look at how the fuel is supplied to the jets, it comes in thru the side of the carb extension on the bottom. Actually those old phazers really ran good when done up with porting, pipes, and the bender fresh air kit. 1 thing I remember is this: dont cut the heads any, the old phazers had alot of compression for a stock engine, port em and leave the heads alone and they ran better and didnt eat up pistons after the carb trick. I will do some digging and see if i can help ya out any.

Thanks mrviper700 I ordered the main & primary nozzles from the teck page here.(Thanks Ryan B). This main nozzle has a smaller OD so there's more room between it & the carb, this will give it more residual fuel during steady speed @ mid range. Also the primary has 2 holes instead of 1. I can't wait to try it.
mrviper700 I wish u could tell me about porting for my sled, were I stuck a piston I'm going to take it down this would be a great time 2 do it.
Thanks again,

I ran my 91 ported with flatslides. It was crazy quick, but ran out of legs pretty quick as I had it geared pretty low with a 136" track on it.
