How hard is it to install these? How much would it cost?

electric start is not an option, no one makes a kits for it because there is no place to bolt the starter to the cases. Reverse is easy...you can find kits for 300.00 ===SRXSRULE===

the problem that we ran into with electric start is finding a place to put the damned battery! maybe with the new real small RX-1 battery's it's doable, but there's not really any spare room on an SRX

how about the trunk, infront of the muffler, below the pipes, outside the clutches, maybe even ontop of the clutch guard, it should take a lot less to spin a srx than a rx1

i think an rx`1 battery will fit in front of the clutch cover

I was going to put electric start on my wife's SRX too, but never got around to it... From what I found (keep in mind that I never did install it...) it WILL fit. Ring gear will mount up to the clutch. Starter motor will mount to the engine case, as the tapped holes are already there.
Like others stated, batt placement is the biggest problem, as if you go conventional it has to be mounted upright. I was going to use a gel-cell, and mount it in the "trunk" on its side. These style batts are real small for their output, are shock resistant, and completely sealed. Pricy tho. Thought about mounting under the pipes, but think that you would have to heat shield it to make it live more than one season. the key has the "momentary on" position for engaging the starter, but I do not know if the wire harness that comes with the kit will plug in directly with the existing SRX harness... not a big deal anyway if you have a meter.
If you are interested, I have a complete kit from a Viper ER that I would sell. It is brand new, in the Yami box. $250 shipped to your door. I paid $300 plus shipping 1-1/2 years ago from a gentleman from Canada that frequents this site.

The reverse can be installed with some mods...there is some info on TY Tech area...

ya we didn't have the fancy RX-1 battery's when we tried this, I think that with some of the ultra-lightweight compact gell cell RX-1 battery's available now it could easily be done.
well.... relativly easily
