I just put a new 1.25" track on my 2000 SRX. I was wondering if I should change the gearing and if so what would be best? The snowmobile is completly stock except for the new track.

a SRX is actualy faster top end when geared down slightly. with the track, I'd definatly gear down some

I am having the same problem with my 01 srx. I put an 1 1/4 ripsaw on it and geared it down one tooth to 22/38 and run my buddy 2000ft on hard pack snow. I couldn't beat them speeds were only 160km or 100mph. On a hard packed road I see 187 to 189. Then I geared up to 23/39 and I started to pass them at 1200ft but still only seeing 166 to 170km. Bottom end and mid seem the same with both gearing but top is definitly better with higher gearing. Now here is my problem do I gear up again to stock gearing or gear down even lower than 22/39 and hope it will go into overdrive. It seems like with the 1 1/4 with any resistance the srx does have enough torque to go into overdrive. Try both clutching with 8dn weights and 8bu doesn't seem to change(different set ups for both sets of weights)

With my 01 SRX with gearing 22/38 I ran 118mph or radar. I geared down ripsaw 1 tooth on top. I also have the Hauck overdrive sheeve and the Bender fresh air kit (jetted). I have yet to have a f7 beet my 01 with set-up. I have a few other changes, but nothing to the engine
