Well, for those of you TY riders that actually got to take the 06 APEX, ATTACK, and VECTOR out, please post your opinions. After a little discussion on Friday, and a call to California, we finally got them to cut loose the show models for test rides. Several TY folks were there Saturday morning early, and I watched at least two groups go out before 9:00 A.M. so I know there is feedback. I actually got to spend 20 minutes on the 06 Vector, Apex, and Attack, and I go to tell ya, those Apex's will make a man of ya real quick.

Hell, as Mr. Sled says, all of them are ***-kicking. The Yamaha rep made it clear, that you ain't seen nothing yet, and I gotta believe him. In fact, the 06 demo's were 2nd generation 06 sleds with more revisions to come.

Damn, they were nice. :yam:

Yes it was my friend. My only comment back to the reps was the hadlebars on the APEX ETX and GT. Little short for me, but some folks just loved it. I was really impressed withe the Vector GT, and for the money, there is nothing better on the market, period. I am hearing around $7499 OTD for these bad-AZZ little beauties. The adjustable front shocks are the coolest yet. Just a little twist of the knob and that was it.

As far as the APEX, it is in a "scare your a$$ to death" class by yourself. There is so much raw power there, nobody, and I mean nobody can complain. The EFI response was just sick.

Your reports were dead on. Mr. Sled. If I had the money, the APEX would be it.

You guys have got to demo these bad boys to really understand what we mean.

BTW: The radar run fast speed was 137.5 MPH, recorded on a 05 RX1 with a turbo at 1000 ft. That was just impressive by itself.

I was able to ride an 06 vector ER and an APEX ER and they wre simply stunning. first of all, I have an 03 viper with pioneer revalved shocks for my weight. I am 150 lbs and about 5'8-10" I think. I ride groomed trails and hardly ever stand. this made me think that the bar risers and forward seating wouldnt really be what I would want, but I was open minded and new that I couldnt judge something I hadnt even sat on yet. than I sat on one. first thought was that the bars are a little forward an high. then I mounted one to ride it...about 10 feet later I was like.....WOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I couldnt beleive how comfortable it was with the combination of the seat, where I was sitting and the bars. I flipped the go lever and it felt faster than anything I have ridden, and I had a few miles on an srx and a vmax 4, along with the 03, 04, and 05 rx1, and on dads 05 vector. the throttle response was instant and ultra smooth. the tq seemed far fatter than the vector or rx1. the thing revved far quicker than the rx1 or vector, and seemed at least as fast if not faster revving than my viper. the bumps were non-existant, and the gauge was incredible, easy to read (even more than the other yamaha gauges) and there is soo much info there for you. the hooked handlebars are perfect and extremely grippy. the seat was super soft and comfy, without being so much so that you cant manuever a lot. standing up to grab air off a small knoll was a breeze with the new position. the handling was razor sharp and reminded me of my old 97 600sx. weight transfer was awesome. engine was the smoothest and most powerfull I have ever been on. I cant say enough good about it! I think I should sell my car and get a beater to afford an apex of any flavor! and the difference in the vector with the MONO RA in it this coming year changes the sled. transfers more weight to seem to handle better and feel a LOT faster. Jimbo was right, vector gt cant be beat in its catagory for the price!! simply astounding! sorry for the length, but I had to tell it all! and probably still forgot something! thanks to yamaha for the opportunity, thanks for all here who helped to make it possible, and thanks to my dealer, Pittsburg Motorsports, who did a great job holding test rides with yamaha on sunday :)

Nice job ViperGuy. You were dead on.

We were glad to convince those guys to cut loose the show models. Did you like speech about the Apex's from the yamaha rep begging us to bring them back in one piece. He looked damn sincere didn't he? I was watching all the Ty riders go out before us, and you guys were drooling at the mouth. Of course, I was flowing with juice when I got back as well.

thanks :) and mr. sled, there is my review ;) can copy and email it to you if you like, but there it is. thanks for everything to everyone who had a part in getting this to happen! it was sweet!

glad just to able to post my thoughts. a small peice of advice would be not to try one if you dont intend to buy, because if you cant afford one( like me:() it will KILL YOU!!! I am DYING to get one but simply cant! ahhhh! donations accepted ;)
