I have a 01 SX700R and I'm reviewing my suspension settings. I have the Yamaha Suspension Hand Book and it say the SX-R should have 35-40% sag in the front. I measured the setting that I have been running and I'm at 17%.
I was wandering what others have for Sag and if anyone has any thoughts regarding Yamaha's recommendations of 35-40%. I feel if I was to reduce my spring tension, I would loose handling in regards to cornerning.
Any help whould greatly be appreciated. Thanks.

well
If you reset the front, you will need to reset the rear to follw. The biggest mistake made by people is trying to tune in the rear with the front out of wack. Maxdlx

Have not measured my sag but....This is my second pro action supension sled, Currently riding 2001 sx700R. I weight 190lbs, Run front and rear shock with Zero spring pressure. Try this, lift sled, take all spring presure off front and rear shocks, I know you may think no-way, but a common misconception is to crank up the coilovers. Its not doing you any favors.
Handels very well, corners really flat and very predictable.
