BRING IT !
I ran into 4 guy's on the trail heading towards Lake city Friday night around 8pm, they looked like all of them were on Yami's and was just wondering if it was anybody on here. They said they could here me coming a long way's off and that my sled sounded great. Now you know I had to give them a little holeshot when I left ) The sled was running really good in the colder temps that night. Any way's, I thought I would just see if it was anybody on here, Just incase they forgot, I was the one on the black RX-1 with the full race exhaust that asked if this was the right way to Lake city !
Thanks guy's.

I had 3 yamaha's go by me when i was stopped at a road crossing in between munising and marquette on sunday, and at least one of them had a ty sticker on it; a blue rx1.
BTW trail 8 all the way to christmas was perfectly flat as there wasnt even enough snow for it to be bumpy.

I was on that trail around 6pm Friday night heading from Lake City back to my cottage at Higgins Lake, But on Friday there was only 2 of us. I was a Viper with 2 big TY stickers. But I don't remember talking to anyone on a yamaha.

sledderbob, thanks for the smart arss remark, why don't you keep your freakin oppinions to yourself. My sled is just a little louder then a QC-1exhaust system. I get nice comments on it everywhere I go. Nobody asked for your TRAIL CLOSING EXHAUST COMMENT, and I am damn proud of my sled and could give a chit what you think. If your looking to vent or stir up some chit, may I suggest you go over to amsnow, I think they would like a guy (I think) like you.

Trailcloser is correct
You said it was loud enough to "hear me coming a long way's off " and that's TOO LOUD. You also said "full race exhaust" that means it is for the track not the TRAIL. Sledderbob is correct in the "trailcloser". It will happen if we don't police our own. Sledderbob's opinion is also my opinion so flame away. But I won't go away.

Sledhead700 - Your first post and already getn' right there...LOL You guys need to lighten up...a long ways off means diferent things to everyone. If your in the woods and that's the case then your probably too loud. If your running across fields and open spaces that doesn't mean a whole lot. Qualify what is going on before assumtions are made. I guess instead of jumping on the guy maybe ask some questions first. I heard a lot of nice sounding sleds that are very respectable sound wise. Believe me I'm all about keeping noise levels down and the trails open. This is not to piss anyone off, but cans/silencers are useless...they, 99% have almost no Hp gains and some weight savings, which is irrelevant, because most guys put them on just for sound...what da??? I have full race exhaust on my viper, Bender 3 into 3's, and there are alot of pointless cans out there that totally drown mine out. I just don't understand the logic lets have tons more sound and almost no performance enhancement...I guess that falls under the logic of if you ain't fast, then you might as well sound like it...do'h!!! Save the money and put it into something constructive.

I did not just join, as I was a member of both of the 2 predecesors to this forum as well as this current one.
Just remember that what sounds good to you or me does not always sound good to other people. Some of these other people own the private land that the trail system depends so greatly upon. This is the same land that so much time, energy, and money go toward trying to keep open to the trail system every year.
I am not saying any of you are wrong, in fact you probrably agree on more sledding issues than you disagree. I just urge all to find the common ground. In other words, let's not fight amongst ourselves . . .

Topgunsrx, thanks for the nice comment's on the exhaust. I remember talking to you at the gas station ,(I think) was it you that was asking about the exhaust system at the gas station ? After seeing how these guy's are over here on the Ty boards, with your comments, I think I will just go back and hang with the 4 stroke crowd. They don't seem to get negative about a fellow yami rider with a somewhat loud exhaust system. As far as performance goes with this thing, it makes all the difference in top end pulling across the lake. When I put this thing on, I noticed a huge gain in pulling power across Houghton Lk, so YES the 2 or 3 hp I picked up from it and allowing it to breath better is a huge difference in my book. Now for sound and them hearing me coming from a long way's off, I was coming down a long straight away at 80mph and then pulled into the picnic area where they were standing, and it was at 8pm in the evening out in the boonies. It's no wonder they heard me coming, because there was not a house within 3 or 4 miles. We were up in the north end of the oil feilds outside of Higgins Lk. I think I know better when I am passing through towns to keep it as quiet as possible.Well, I am not going to get into a shouting match with any of you, my sled sounds good and runs good and if you don't like it when I am coming by, just wait 2 seconds and I'll be GONE......... PEACE OUT.

Guys I just read my post from yesterday and I guess I was in a bad mood or somethin....well, I just got off of HCS, well they can be pretty frustrating over there and I unfortunately brought it here. Sorry If I came off like a jerk. Silencers/Cans are not pointless...I'm just not a fan. Ding- I wasn't directing that to you, unless your Sledhead700 too? If you are sorry, I saw the 1 post thing and it was a joke. Yes we can get along, as long as you don't post like I did yesterday...LOL The hard part is writing without sounding offensive...it is way too easy to misunderstand what someone has typed. You know...you can read and put the emphasis anywhere and change what is said...

My sled had a can on it when i got it and it reminded me of a gut shot sick deer when its blatting , i put the stock exhaust back on it just my preference, some sound good and some dont, just my $.02

I also like a good sounding sled when it comes by but some times it it too loud and just leave your ears ringing like some of the older polarisis and cat's out there that it the kind of thing that will shut down the trails. Where i ride if a cop hears a real loud one go by he will chase it down and see if it is legal. I also agree with the guy who sid we have to kep the trails that are on private property open because with out some of those the wol systm is in acessible. But as long as they are reasonable they are okay in my book.
