Just curious. Was on a awesome ice patch this past Sunday and had the Viper wound out to 199 km/h on the dream meter (fastest i have seen on it). It was there for a good bit and seemed to be accelerating a little. Will the speedo show 200? Have now seen 3 different speedo's stop @ 199. Is it possible that the speedo stops here and won't show any higher? Didn't have a radar gun or gps but when i was running 114 mph on radar the dream meter showed 192 - 194. HOping that the sled was actually going 115 or 116. That would be totally awesome for my stock viper. ;)!

Hey DoktorC,

Rev's were the same as usual around 8800. Seems to fly up there and hold all day long. Even with that old belt I'm using. I have not put on the new belt yet. Might try that this weekend (weather permiting). Hope you have fun today at the demo ride. Pretty cool morning (-19 celcius). Let me know what you think.

Yeah as DoktorC is refering, I'm curious if the digital speedo's will read 200 km's. I have seen 3 (my viper and two RX-1's) hit 199 and stay there. I know my top speed on the gun has been 114 mph (183 km's). Just wondering if the digital speedo is capable of showing 200 +.

so have you done clutching to your sled? that seems pretty impressive for a stock sled :) sweet!

03 Viperguy, no tuning done to the sled. Note even any clutching. Only performance addative was 144 studs. Everything else is bone stock, fill her up and go. I'm extremely happy with it. Ride is great, fuel mileage is pretty awesome (250 km's to a tank), thing doesn't use any oil (400 km's to a litre), and it looks sweet right out of the box :WayCool: . What more can you ask for? Oh, did i mention it's fun to pull beside the competitions, 800's and some 900's? Forget their 700's, they just can't come close.

km=kilometers, 6 tenths of a mile equals 1 kilometer (close) not sure on the liters to a quart. I do know that 4.2 litre equals a gallon though.

I talked to some of the guys at the ride..and sorry to say but the speedo will click over to the 200 ;)...you just weren't going that fast.

an F7 will put you in your place..lol

I didnt think an f7 or any of the other "big twins" had very good top end. seems they arent as strong as they seemed, just geared lower so they grunt like hell but not a lot of top end.... this true at all??

Sorry guys, have not raced an F7. I would be interested on how they would compare. Most of the races have been amongst friends (all Yamahas). Did manage to do a radar run with a couple of rev's. I ran 104 mph on this run and the 800 rev ran 105 mph. It was pretty close. Only other sled to compare to was a done up thundercat (not fair, he's got more work $$$ done to the engine than I can dream of affording). Going besides guys on the lake but not sure if they are pinned or not. Been beside many 800 polaris's and beat most of the 700 polaris's. I don't imagine they would be holding back because who really wants to loose the race down the lake. ;)! The viper is perfect for me right now. (yes I'm dreaming of an apex but $$$ constraints put that on hold for a while).

I agree completely. my exact prediciment! :o|

I have seen 116 on the dream meter mine is pretty acurate but this was on a lake and bone stock. It was perfest because a local airplane shop has a few planes but one of them dosen't have skis only wheels so they plowerd a 3 mile long strip for take off and landing the ice was flat ans a pancake i was flying :WayCool:
