Well,

I thoght it was off, but not this much. On GPS

0-10 right on.
10-20 off 2 MPH.
20-40 off 5 MPH.
40-60 off 8 MPH.
60-85 off 11 MPH.

So at 85 mph I am off 11 miles per hour. That sux. Anybody know a good way to straighten out this speedo problem?

Kind of reminds me of the old analog clock in my 67' Mustang.

We took 2 teeth of a RX-1 and was dead nuts on at 100mph on the track dyno. I would start of with 1 tooth and check it out and then take 1 more off if needed off the oppisite side of the tooth that you already took off.

Speedo is showing more spped than GPS

Wolf,

I was considering 1 tooth. When I take the gear off, just grind one of the teeth off to the barrel portion of the gear?

yea i know of a few guys that have done that with good results. It seems that some of them are off different percentages than others too, which is kind of weird to me.

Yep just grind or mill it down to the base of the gear. A cut off wheel works really well to grind the tooth off, or you can use a milling machine.

Just a quick drawing here to show you what Wolfman is talking about. He is saying to grind off or remove one of the teeth from the gear which sits infront of the speedo sensor and gives the speedo it's reading.

It is fun to duddle. I use to be a design engineer for a place that made custom automated machines untill I got hired by the city of Hartford electric company. We used Cadkey 19 3d solids with draft pak. Whats nice is I still have it at home and use it to design misc. thing for at the shop. Now get back to work!! Opps!!!!Maybe I should take my own advise and get back to work. lol.

We use Autodesk Inventor. I have slight experience in Solidworks, but not very much. Started out using Autocad 2000. I work as a mechanical engineer for Diamond Mowers. We make mowers for highway departments, etc.

I also use it quite often at the shop or "after hours" for odds & ends. It takes alot of guess work out of things to see if it will fit right, etc. I currently have a billet oversized secondary that I designed and is in testing as we speak. I used to use it every evening at home, but for the past 4 months this little guy takes up most my evening hours!

gonna cut it

Yup,

I see what to do. Also, I am interested in a clutch kit for my 02 SLP Viper. Have all stock, expect 8DN-20's with (cannot remember) what weights. Spins at 8900 everytime. 1200ft. Looking for trial/lake set-up.

Still runs a little fat on the bottom, but 10-12 mpg.

i am starting to become quite familiar with autocad 2000 as well. Pretty interesting a lot of the things you can do with these tools.
