Is it the same procedure to take out a layer of the head gasket as the sx and v max on 600 tripple venture? And how can you tell without taking off the head if it has been done?

you can tell if it has been done without taking the head off by looking at the tabs on the gaskets that stick out between the head and the cylinders. If the mod has been done, the rivets will have been drilled out, and if you look closely you should be able to see how many layers are in there. If there are 3 layers it is stock, two or one and the mod has been done. Yes the procedure is the same for any of the 600 and 700 non YPVS triples.
