RE: Chaincase gear question on 1980 SRX440
Hey guys, I just installed my track and main track drive, im now putting together the chaincase (over a year apart now) and i was trying to lign up the bottom gear and found the gear can go in two ways, there is a shoulder on the inner part where it splines, does this shoulder go in towards the chaincase or to the outside? the pic from the yamaha page looks like it goes out, but the gear may rub the case that way, if it goes in then the bolt and washer that holds it in place has alot of play before it touches the gear, what's wrong here?? any ideas?

I'm not sure it's been awhile but doesn't it have some washers for spacers?

according to the pictuer it only has one washer...... and it looks like the shoulder goes out but that can't be right......
