Not sure if you all noticed or not, but I see Yamaha came out with the 3rd generation of SnoForce helmets.
I have a 1st Generation SnoForce (its a SnoForce SRX helmet made in '00) and its a pretty good helmet. However, I breath guard kinda squishes my nose and with the low snocross windshield that my sled has on it, it tends to have a lot of nose from the wind hitting the front of the helmet. The front of it is kind of flat and has square corners, so Im sure it creates a lot of turbulance.
Anywho, Yamaha also has had a lot of problems with Lazer (the company who made the older SnoForce helmets) sending them the wrong face shields. I had a heck of a time getting a mirrored visor for my SnoForce and I was told by Port Yamaha that Lazer all makes helmet for Ski-Doo and that they had a problem with Lazer sending them visors for Doo helmets instead of ones for Yamaha helmets.
I havent seen a SnoForce 3 in person yet, but it looks to me like its better than the 2s were. Its made by HJC, has adjustable vents and is much more rounded. It should cure the wind noise problem that mine has.

I think it is.
My mother just got a brand new HJC helmet that looks exactly like the SnoForce 3. She says she really likes her new helmet.
I'll let you guys know how well the SnoForce 3 works sometimes next winter. Ive decided to retire the SnoForce 2 and use it when I ride my old vintage sled.

My buddy bought a Yamaha modular before the season. I tried them on, and don't like them at all. Again, I think these are made by Lazer. My other friends have various HJC helmets. I like some of them, but the older ones (non-modular) all have fogging problems. Of course, heated visors are readily available for HJC, but most of these guys just rent sleds these days(which is why sleds should ALL have standard visor plugs).

HJC hooking up with Yamaha sounds like it could be a real good thing, and I'm almost due for a new helmet!

friend and my mom both just got Xpeed helmets. awesome helmet, real nice and snug, warm, and light. and the price cant be beat, you can get a plain black one for like $89! graphic ones are $110 I think

Thats kinda like the old HJC Symax helmets. They went for $89.
I ordered a SnoForce 3 yesterday, the price was $120.

Not bad for an OEM helmet, especially when you consider that the SnoForce 2s went for $180.
My sister in law got a new Polaris helmet this past fall, she paid over $300 for it. Its got a nice looking decal package on it but to pay that much for a standard snowmobile helmet (its not a modular) is too much for me.
Then again, I wouldnt wear anything that says Polaris on it even if you gave it to me for free....
