RE: Bender triple SX 700 type pipe mod questions
Hey guys, i have a 2002 Mountain Max 700 triple with bender triple pipes on her, I want to race it and we don't need silencers here, can I remove them and just put three straight (slightly bent) 1.5" Conduit in it's place? it's the right size to slip right into the stock pipe outlets? will this give me any more power or will it cause some backpressure issues?

dont do it, leave them they way they are. They are designed to run with the silencers.

but if i make my silencers the same size on the in and out side and they are the same length they should sill work as well only be louder right?????

the flow characteristics will change because the gases dont travel straight through, they pass through the silencing material. Also the sound is minimized by acoustics, and the acoustics will change.

the only silencing material is on the outter edge of the silencers, other then that they are straight through, I know it will be louder, thats' what I want though, as long as it don't make me burn up.

you could just try it. Make the silencers the way you want to and then get it on a dyno. That is really the only way to know for sure.
