How tight should the chain be? I checked the oil level today after riding for two days and getting ready to ride tomorrow.I noticed filings on the magnet so cleaned them off and checked again.Still full of filings even after cleaning it about five times.Decided to see what was going on inside.Everything looks fine but the chain seems to be loose.Is there a spec on how tight or is it LAR

you turn the adjuster bolt in finger tight, then lock the nut. Any tighter you are asking for trouble. Maxdlx
Thanx Maxdlx. Going out to the shop to do that right now. Could a loose chain cause lower fuel milage? This last trip I would use more fuel than the RX1 (like 4 bucks more)

I couldn't touchthe rx-1s on the ty trip fuel milage wise. I'd say he's getting terrible milage or your getting great. It won't affect fuel milage though. Maxdlx
I went out with 2 Rx-1's and a Polaris 700xc and always pump 2 bucks less on average on a 350 mile trip and only and one litre of oil.This last trip (same miles) I used about 3 bucks more per pump and added 2 litres of oil. Don't know what changed but still runs strong

What were the air temps during the two trips? Air density effects 2 strokes much more than 4 strokes. HUBCITYSX

The temps have varied alot on all the trips.The last trip we started out at -3 C and came home at -22 C.Another trip stared out at -15 C went down to -25 C and we came home at -12 C.The sled has been very consistent and now it seems to consistently use more.

Well just got back from riding on ungroomed trails .Man it was rough but not when I had a chance to take the Vector.With the turbo on it it sure does not take long to 110 on the speedo and is it ever smooth ditch-banging. Made me curse when he wanted it back.LOL
