I am thinking about installing the newer 200 watt generater from a 1990's 485 in place of the 150 watt on my 1985 Phazer. Has anybody done this? I would need a stator plate and flywheel which I am told will fit the same. Will the timing marks align correctly? Are the timing specs the same? Is the CDI box the same? I would guess that the original regulator and rectifier (electric start) would work, but not sure because of the higher output. When was the 200 watt system first used?
Has anybody converted from the single wave rectifier to full wave? How about running the entire system on AC?
Any help would be appreciated. Wiseguy
