I have a 2000 700SXr that is getting about 60 miles per quart of oil. I adjusted the cable to 22 +/-1 mm (it was about 5 mm out of adjustment) and its still sucking oil at about the same rate. Can I adjust it more? My big fear is burning up the motor. Is there anything else I should look at? Sled runs fine and not fouling plugs but oil is expensive!!! I've been through 8 gallons of oil this year!
Thanks for any help.

Thanks for any help.
Make sure the cable to oil pump is cable seated properly in the housing cus if not you use a ton of oil. Set gap to 23mm.

The gap was origanilly set at about 30mm before I adjusted it. Everything is seated properly and the locking nut was tight when I adjusted it. Oil is not leaking out and the plugs look gray with black oil-like sludge at bottom of threads. Dealer told me the shorter the gap, the more oil gets let in.
I am at a lost!
Does it sound like I need a new oil injector pump and how much are they?
Is there anything else I can check?
Thanks for help!

if you went from 30 to 23 you made it worse. You might have a pump going bad. Maxdlx
