Im thinking of Changing reeds (Boyensen or Carbon Tech?) and rejetting. Im running stock 156.3 's and I have three of the adjustable T.P.I. valves under the filter on my air box . Also I ride mostly in northern Maine. Any thoughts on the reeds and jetting?

some people say they get better throttle response with after market reeds, but in my opinion they aren't near as durable and reliable as the stockers. The aftermarkets tend to chip after a few thousand miles, and then you need to replace them. Any added benefits aren't worth it to me, yamaha makes good stock reeds.

Any suggestions on jetting then?

if you are running the stock jetting and have TPI valves i wouldn't change the jetting. I would just open up the TPI valves as it got warmer out to allow more air in, which would effectively lean the mixture. Jetting down doesn't make that big of a difference on the vipers and srx's, except running more risk for burn down if you go too far.

I run the TPI's as well, I installed 4 of them. I use the Boyesen Rad valves and have a 1000 miles on them so far and they work great...alot better throttle response. Keep in mind I have triple pipes on mine. It's been said that if your running stock or close to stock stay with the stock reeds, especially with Yamaha.

true they do make more of a difference on piped sleds and on sleds with other mods that require more airflow for the power to be there. On a stock sled though, the stock yamaha reeds are the best.
