I don't know how it happened but when i had my secondary off if must have dropped the main bolt or had sand in it because when i started to turn it, it got tight so a stopped and took out, now it first two threads on the bolt and the jack shaft are cross threaded, what should i do??????...............Reaper

I have had luck tappering the end of the bolt, then make sure the bolt threads are clean and straight before you start the bolt back in. Might have to use a thin file to clean up the threads. Every shop/garage should have a good Tap & Die set would be your best bet.

After further inspection this morning, in -38C temp in my unheated garage!, found that is only the jack shaft threads that are slightly damage (first two), so how do fix, i have never used tap & die set before, is the jackshaft a stardand type of threads........Reaper

Typically if you use a metric wrench/socket, the threads are also metric. If the threads inside the shaft are real bad you might not get a bolt started back in.

someone has suggested not using the soft aluminum bolt, but rather a steel bolt of the same size to try to re-set the screwed up thread, does any know the dimension of the stock bolt so i can find a match and try, before i find a tap and die set...........Reaper

Take the bolt down to your local parts store(NAPA if you have one close by) and have them give you a tap of the same size and get the job done. That shaft is really hard and you will do more messing around trying to fix it when you could just get the right stuff and be done with it. They will know what size the bolt is and should be able to get you the right tap. Who knows, he might just let you use it. Or try your local dealer and see if you can borrow theirs. Taps are not that expensive. As long as you guide the tap in fairly straight, it should straighten those threads right out. Now go!!!!!
