Done lots of searching but still cannot decide. Are the big bores reliable? Which one is best for all around riding?
If I can get 150hp from a ported 700, is it worth the extra cash to go for another 15-20hp from a big bore kit(if that is what they produce)? Don't mind spending the cash if it's worth it and if it'll be reliable. Was looking at the Bender 800 kit, but how does it compare to others, like the SLP or Simmons CPR kit?
It's either a big bore or Bob's (Mad Max's) porting (which I've heard nothing but great things about).
Sorry for all the questions guys and I appreciate any replies.
Thanks
Chris

personally, i think porting on that engine. You can do some wicked porting to those things and if you have a good set of pipes they really rock. To me big bores never seem as reliable as the stock parts. This is just my opinion though. The slp kit is about 159 horse and hauck's is around 162, so only about 10 horse higher than a good porting job with some good pipes.

mods

I'm ported with all the mods and have over 10,000 kilos of turnkey running. All the bigbores in our area suffered wallet pain.
