Are the slide rails on viper's and srx's the same? I saw a 02' viper skid for sale and I own a 98 srx in need of new rails. I just purchased the sled and it appears the previous owner had drilled and installed the marginal wheel kit. Well, the one rail is broken and the other side is cracked and I wondered if this is common and could drilling for the wheel kit have weakened the rails at the bend. Is there anything I should know before purchasing and installing rails or skid. Install the rails on the sled or pull the skid out to do it?

The SRX & Viper rails are different in two areas. The SRX rails have a sharper bend in the front of the rails. Also I don't believe the Viper rails have the correct mounting position for the SRX control rods.

I'd pull the skid to switch those rails, it'll make it much easier. When you tighten the rails make sure it's on a flat surface so your rails are square to eachother.

You can however put the whole viper skid in your srx, direct bolt in, and end up with a long travel srx. Maxdlx

From experience, it's easier to find a whole skid than to just find rails. Replace that skid, and keep your old one for parts.
