There is a 1999 SRX700 with a bad rod bearing for $1000. Replacing the bearing would not be a big deal for me to do myself. I have a pretty well equiped garage. The sled is in otherwise good shape and has a long travel rear suspension upgrade. Good deal or forget it?

grind the welds off, lol

even without a welded crank it's a mofo tho, I'd rather send it out than do it myself.

you could also part the sled out.

I would have to carefully grind the welds down and reweld it after I put he crank back together is my assumption. Am I totally wrong in assuming that replacing the rod bearings is possible? Is it a spot weld or bead all the way around?

99SRX Bad Crank Bearing

Buy it, I know that sled!!!!!!! If I were going to be riding next year I would Rebuild in a heart beat!!!!!!

yea i would buy it, i think its worth it. Even if the crank was junk, you could get a different crank easy. Rod bearing hey? Sounds like someone didn't summerize it right.

Summer!

Yamaholic, Sled had 9651 miles on her and was still @115 on speedo when she went! You got to love thoses SRX's!!!!!!! Come and get it !

ya that's accurate, grind down and reweld once she's together.

it's just a spot weld, walk in the park man.

the pressing is still a major PITA tho, I'd recommend sending it out. and I do almost everything myself.
