I CAN'T GET INTO THE ATV SECTION TO POST THIS SO I NEED TO DO IT HERE. THE BATTERY IN MY 05 GRIZZZLY IS DEAD. TRIED TO CHARGE SEVERAL
TIMES AND IT WON'T HOLD A CHARGE. ANYBODY KNOW WHAT THE WARRANTY IS ON THESE. IT'S A YTX20L-BS. IS THERE A BETTER BATTERY THAT CAN REPLACE IT IF I NEED TO BUY ONE? A BATTERY SHOULD LAST MORE THAN 26 HOURS ON THE METER, AND THE WINCH HAS NEVER BEEN USED. (NEVER GETS STUCK!! ) TIME TO GIT'R READY FOR MUD!

Going back to the street days... I was getting 6 seasons to a sealed battery by pulling it inside every fall and giving it a trickle charge 1amp hr. The most important thing is to properly charge a brand new sealed battery after fill and before sealing. The last 20L-BS I did took 11 hrs to charge before I could use it. That battery was in the Rx for 2 seasons and I now use it to start my generator.

Battery warranty is 6 months, but Yamaha may cover it for longer if it was the original battery.

did it freeze this winter. That is the #1 cause of battery failure. We keep our camper either plugged in or take the batteries in the basement. when a battery freezes it messes up the plates. It only takes temps down in the 20 for 2 to 3 days to ruin a good battery. Maxdlx

Thanks Guys! I'll Check The Acid Level Tonight. The Grizz Was New
In August And Everything Was Fine Till I Pulled It In December. Brought It In The Basment And Put It On The Work Bench. Had A Auto
Battery Tender On It So I Thought It Would Be Good To Go. I Did Jump The 05 With My 02 That Had The Battery In It All Winter And Used Very Little, And It Started Right Up. Both Of Them. Battery Voltage Was At 12.3 Volts But Drops To 5.6 When I Crank It. Running, The Voltage Is Over 14.0 Volts.
THIS IS ALSO THE ORIG. BATTERY.

As the battery is sealed, I am not sure how you are going to check to see if it is low. Also there is no "full" mark on a sealed battery as the acid pack is shipped wit hthe battery and is already metered properly. As your battery is 7 months old I would take it back to the dealer for a new one. Last note NEVER add ACID to a battery that is low on fluid. Distilled water is the way to go.

while on the subject of batterys, i checked my non-sealed battery and found it was just about dry on every cell, now i filled they all back up with distilled water,, my question is thats like 4/5 distilled water in every cell and the other 1/5 is what every was in the battery already.. anyway is my battery shot now?

As the water costs like .15$ try it. Most likely the battery is shot. The reason you can't add more acid is the the battery is prone to explosion. After working with batteries for 10 years I have a long list if clothing ruined by just switching the acid tank...
