my 02 viper was overreving with my 121" ripsaw with 144 studs stock gearing and 8 tooth drivers. i installed an advant 48/40 helix at the recommendation of our clutching master turk, and it was good to go (8,500-8,600 max on a looong run). i am now going to a fully clipped 136" 6 pitch with 108 studs that will be appx 10lbs heavier. do i need to make any clutching changes?

n2oiroc, not sure what you are running for weights but you will have to reclutch. you can stick with the same helix but you will have to remove some weight from the tip and prob the shoulder to get the rpms back up. i am sure some of the clutch guru's could tune in on this.

Can,t tell ya till you actually run the sled & note the rpm,s. Don,t even want to guess!!

thanks guys. i am hoping it wont change much because i have to trailer 300 miles to ride to check it and im done for the year. ill find out next winter!
