Well after finally finishing up the complete install of my supercharged RX-1 all I can say is WOW this thing is insane! Why anyone would need a 230hp trail sled is beyond me!
A little bit about the sled. It's a 2005 RX-1 ER and now has a Mountain Performance supercharger on it. Running 10 lbs of boost on our maiden voyage with 50/50 mix of 91 octane & 110 octane. The kit makes in the range of 230hp on 10 lbs of boost. This thing is a blast!
Thanks to Mac @ Mountain Performance, Matt @ The Speed Shop and last but not least my father whom is 1/2 owner of this project sled. For any of your guys supercharged needs check us out at Ulmer Racing!

Just some more pictures! Time to start setting it up for asphalt now!

What are you running for clutching? I mean in the snow, I imagine its going to change when you set it up for drags. I have the identical sled minus the blower (yes I'm jealous).

Running different rollers, primary spring, and secondary spring (all Yamaha products yet) and then running 60 gram Super Tip weights with an Advant-Edge helix. The clutching will probably be fairly close on the asphalt from what it is right now. Just be a little different gearing and going to turn down the boost to 7 lbs and run on pump gas.

How hard is it to turn down the blower? I could see starting the day out with race/pump mix and then turning it down when I needed to fuel up on the trail, if its a simple change and as long as the clutching wouldn't be way off. I'm putting deep thought into a supercharger vs. a turbo. I hear the superchargers are easier to install too.
Very nice Allen...

ejcamaro, the supercharger requires a pulley change to turn down the boost as of right now, but I am working on a possible solution to have adjustable boost while out on the trail.

Allen, is it possible to intoduce a measured air leak on the blower? Like with the stock Buick GN with the turbo we could trick the waste gate by instaling tiny pipes with measured holes. So, for full boost you run no leaks on the blower. For pump gas you open a lever on the handle bars to introduce a leak in-between the blower and carbs. This leak is measeured to give you x-lbs of boost at full throttle. It's just my 2-cents. I am hoping that a blower might fit into my new Apex GT I like the fact that it does not glow in the dark like Busters at night (looks like a nuke plant in there). Doug
