Has anyone tried adding foam to gain seating height (hoping for 2-3 inch gain)? If so, what type of foam did you use or did you add to the plastic base under the foam? I plan on having vinyl replaced on my seat and it would be a bonus to get more height at the same time.
Thanks

GREG, I saw a post on the rx classified where one of the guys had added two inchs of foam to his sled.. I'm thinking of adding seat height to my two srx's..just not sure how I'm going to do it yet. might try the foam.

I was thinking of trying Resilient foam that is used in wheelchair cushions; it's not to expensive. I was hoping for suggestions first.

Hey Greg, My nephew (6' 2" or so)took his seat to a local "auto seat shop" and had them cut out the top section of the seat at the seam, add 2-3" of foam and sew in a new black vinyl top. He should have had them "taper" the new foam from the gas tank back (a foot anyway) for a better look. The way his was done with a "drop off" (from of seat down to the gas tank) looks a little dorky but his tank bag covers it. Bottom line: he said it rode much better and lots of relief in the hip area -- and, he would never go back to the way it was no matter what it looked like. Cheap way to do it (about $100) compared to a new Boss seat.

THKSNOW,
That's actually what I was going to do. I thought I would do the foam myself and sculpt the edges then have new black vinyl sewn in. Do you know what type of foam was used?
