Has anyone tried adding more insulation to a srx700 stock pipe to try to retain more heat in the pipes. Would this have the same effects as ceramic coating????

yea ceramic coating does a lot as far as insulating effects on pipes, and really stabilizes the pipe temperatures.

yes, but there's already a ton of weight on the pipes in insulation, I dunno if I'd wanna add any more than that when ceramicing is already an option, abit of money yes, but the pipes will retain there heat better and you'll lose some weight.

LMAO, ya that's basicly what I'm getting at

go fast, rail well is more important than look nice in a place that only I will ever see.

that said I like a clean engine bay as much as anyone else. but that's just 'cause I hate working in a mess.

I have Bender pipes on my Viper and they really fill up the hood. I just got the sled and it looks like it could really get hot under the hood with those pipes. I was thinking about insulating them. Has anyone tried header wrap on their pipes ? Plus would it change the jetting any since it would hold more heat in the pipe ?

i've used the header wrap before to wrap my AAEN pipes that I had on my viper. the header wrap works fantastic and will hold heat in a pipe better than ceramic coating will. i think ceramic coating looks better but only if taken care off. downside to header wrap is it will make you itch when installing on pipes and can cause pipes to rust cause it can hold moisture against pipes.

Hey thanx that sounds pretty promising. I might try to tackle it this summer or fall. I saw a kit on summit racing for $89.00 which I'm sure is a lot cheaper than ceramic coating, although the ceramic coating looks cooler.
