As I have seen on many threads people often change their clutching. And allways recommend it to others. For drag I can understand that you have to change both gearing and clutching to get the most out of the sled on that limited distance.. Then there are all combinations of parts you can use
The thing is, I have a -01 Srx700 (stock) and 2 of my buddies has -97 MachZ 800 Triples. I know i will be beaten, but someone said theres allways room for improvement in clutching.. Say if I want to keep the topspeed, are there any setups that will do better than stock setup?

The stock set up will give very good top end as long as you keep rpm,s under 8600 on that sled.
Ok, I´ve noticed that it sometimes revs over 8600rpm.. But that is when im driving over 60mph and give it full throttle. Then it revs up to about 8800rpm, but only for a second or two. After that it goes back to 8500 and stays.. Thats ok right?

An aftermarket helix can help top end too, by allowing the secondary to shift out further. I'm sure Turk can give you the angles that would work best with stock weights, and also be a good base for future changes. You might suprise those skidoos, just push the loud handle harder
That would be nice to try. I took it easy with the christmas food and held my 160lbs And the sled has the stock track (0.75") so I think the engine has enough power to squeese out a few mph:s more Can a helix change improve both midrange acceleration and top end speed?
Turk: Helix Suggestions?
I was ambushed by a rock hiding in the snow this sunday!! It killed one of the lower radius rods.. RIP

I have a 98 SRX and have tried all sorts of clutch set-ups. I recently went back to stock (with added weight to keep RPMs in check) and the top end is incredible!! I forgot how the SRX pulls on top end! I had used other combos and had better low end, but it always killed the top end. For me, I would rather have top end, so this is a good set-up for em.

I'm about to go back to stock setup as well. I feel it had more top end with stock setup.....
Ok, thanks for the reply:s. I became interrested in the thing John said about the helix. But for my purpose the stock setup might be quite good.
SRXdude did you have to put much extra weight to yours? It wants to overrev a little when driving and giving it full throttle. Not at lover speeds though..

My SRX would over-rev at all speeds, until I added more weight to the primary. Right now I am running two 4.5g rivets in the stock arms, with a straight 47 in the secondary set at 50
