Just curious how well the shocks hold up after a significant amount of miles?

they are just ryde fx shocks, they will need to be rebuilt around every 3-4 thousand miles.

i have been told 1200-1500miles for regular fox shocks, 3,000 miles for the FOX Zero Comp Shocks.

I have ~ 5000 miles on my expertX and have the shocks oil changed, seals checked and nitrogen recharged every 2000 miles. cost is $40 per shock at Dey-Core in MN
EXPERT USES KYB's
They ARE KYB shocks in the Expert. I have mine re-oiled and recharged every 3000 miles with no problems. Over 7500 miles on my Expert. I change the brass & oilite bushings every year at a cost of less than $50. It's worth it!

i don't think that changing your oil in shocks should be gauged by miles.if one person rides extremely hard an in rough trail, the oil will have to be changed more often.sort of like engine oil...under extreme conditions the oil should be changed more often...i have my shocks recharged/oil changed (ohlins) once per year...
