I was wondering if you can reuse the cylinder head gasket, cylinder gasket and crankcase gasket when rebuilding a 97 yami 600 twin? I was told that if I clean the mating aluminum engine components and gaskets properly, then spray each gasket with "spray gasket," a good seal can be established.
Is it in my best interest to use new gaskets? Are there aftermarket gasket kits?

use new gaskets, not worth the gamble, there is a good chance if you reuse them they will leak
Use new gaskets, they don't cost that much. If you are splitting the case use new crank seals and Yamabond 4 on the mating surfaces. There are aftermarket gaskets and kits available.

yes definately use yamabond 4 when re-mating the cases if you have to do any crank or bottom end work. New crank seals are pretty important as well, because a small leak there will lean it out and pop a piston. Head gaskets always seem to leak if you reuse them. Sometimes you get lucky, but not worth the gamble.

Thanks everyone for the feedback. I will purchase new gaskets and use the yamabond 4.
