I am planning to by a Camo Predator 1.25" x 121" track to replace the 9830 I wrecked on the last ride. Can anyone tell me the pro's and con's of a fully clipped track vs. a track that has every third window closed?

simple, fully clipped allows you to run extroverts, and they glide a little easier in low snow conditions. Every third clipped is lighter.

we put a fully tall clipped track on our oval race sled. fully clipped helps keep the track from derailing. we used wahl bros antiratchet drivers which are internal as well as external drivers. we also installed 4 rear axle wheels to further prevent track derailing and keep the track running true to the ice.

Thanks guys. I had talked to a few people that said a non-fully clipped track will eat up the slide rails on an SX chassis even faster than they normally do. I am still going to buy the Predator with every third window closed because of the weight saving and aggresive lug design.

the lug design is the same whether it is fully clipped or every third. As for the eating slides, that is much more in setup. Also, yamaha's all burn slides real quick down almost to the wear lin\e, and then basically stop wearing. Most people replace them too soon because they see how fast they wore down to the line and the figure that they will just keep on wearing like that.

I have the every 3 clipped on my 98 SRX. Second season on the hyfaxes 5500 mile for both seasons. Hyfaxes look great The track is lighter so I picked up a couple mph on the top end.
Camoplast said the tracks with ever 3 window closed hold snow in better??

it is true they do hold snow a little better when there is loose snow, which results in less friction. The problem is when the snow starts becoming marginal, the rubber on the every third clipped starts to really bind on the slides, but this all depends on the conditions you ride in obviously.
