I have a 1998 SRX 600 with 2,000 miles. Upon the sled not running for an extended period of time (over 2 weeks) it will not start and the plugs develop antifreeze on them. The only solution to get it running is dry the cylinders and use starting fluid. The first thought is a head gasket, but not all three would be bad. I do not have a lot of knowledge on the cooling system on the sled. There has to be a leak somewhere but I do not know where to begin. Does anyone have any ideas or have experienced a similar problem?

Both my 98 & 99 start the same way, hard if set for a period of time. My plugs don't get wet like that, that could just be condensation from setting. I pull them about 15 times then walk away for 5-10 minutes then come back and usually they start within th next ten. Even setting over night at 20 below zero they start on the fourth pull if I've been riding.

After riding all weekend and putting around 300 miles on the sled, it still starts hard in the mornings. Usually takes two sets up plugs until it is warm. Once the sled is warm it runs great all day. Cannot figure it out at all. As of now I do not think it is a head gasket anymore as the sled did not use any antifreeze.

what is your starting process. This is not normal for the sled.
Mine starts everytime after tree pulls even with our cold northern ontario weather.

Starting process is full choke. Pull about 20 times and the sled might fire. If it does start, then turn choke to half. If it does not fire, then replace all three plugs. Once fired try and let warm up at least a minute, but will start fouling right away. Take choke off and sled will foul at least one plug. Take out all three plugs and the plugs all looked fouled. Replace plugs with new ones and the sled starts right up and is fine for the day. Runs great all day long. The next morning restart the process and hope it works. Sometimes like earlier stated it will take 6 new plugs to get it running.
