Adjustable transfer rods change the coupling interaction with the two shocks in the rear skid. The less gap between the upper and lower rods equals more coupling. More coupling gives a better ride, less ski lift and less weight transfer. The more the gap (control rods turned "up") the worse the ride, more ski lift and more weight transfer.
I can notice a significant difference from the stock setting to maximum transfer. Set for maximum transfer I pull the skis off the ground a couple of feet (depending on traction) but the ride is really rough. It is a lot softer, but seems to have more "bucking action".
I run my rods at stock setting, unless I want to drag. Also, I have heard that the "W" arm is damaged more easily with the rods set to max transfer, as there is more bottoming on the front shock.
Hope this helps!
