Long of the short of it, I was on my way to selling the Exciter when I found out that the secondary clutch shaft splines as well as the secondary clutch splines were roasted. While I could've done some "questionable" rigging and sold it, I wouldn't have felt right if it left someone stranded. Anyway, I looked around for some parts and low and behold I found a Bender Racing 91-96 or so Phaser widening kit for CHEAP.
After looking over a Phaser and the kit, the ONLY major issue (short of the installing the kit itself) I could see in grafting it on my 90 Exciter would be fabbing up some form of a angled shim to get the top of the shock tube somewhat near the stock angle. Which, oddly enough, is the only major differences I saw between the Phaser (doesn't have a top shock tube mount) and Exciter (has a top shock tube mount). NOTE: The other major issue is how the steering components are coverd/uncovered.
Since the Phaser and Exciter share soo much of their parts (the secondary shaft is the same as is some of the secondary clutch parts), would the widening kit for the Phaser work properly for the Exciter?? OR, should I pick up the kit and sell it to the highest bidder?
