Hey I was looking into putting a '99 yamaha secondary on my '80 srx. Has anyone done this. It looks like the jackshaft might need to be about an inch longer. Does anyone know if a jackshaft off of something else (like an ss440) will fit?

i put one on a 86 srv, not sure how that shaft compares to yours. what i did was use a longer bolt and a shorter spacer than the 95 and up. hope this helps

are the newer yamaha secondaries key'd or splined?
the old srx's had a splined sceondary/jackshaft.

talk to the guys @ www.microbelmont.com they'll be able to help you out with special jackshafts.they sell a shaft that allows you to use a polaris secondary on an srx shaft. good luck!

It will fit. You have to set your offset to spec. and use new (wide belt) drive clutch. Then a new wide belt. In my testing so far (not much) the old driven works best.
