Hey guys, i was at some uphill 800 feet drag races this weekend, they guys running aftermarket chaincases are running 24/44 gearing, with 9 tooth drivers, I can't find any charts with thise large bottom gears to find the overall ratio, anyone know of any?? im wondering how close it would be to 22/39 with 8 tooth drivers....thanks guys.

Just use simple math . . .

Divide the bottom gear teeth by the top gear teeth.

To convert relative ratio from 9 tooth to 8 tooth - multiply by 9 and divide by 8.

Calculating ratio - another way

To get the 9 tooth ratio you just divide the top gear into the bottom. For example: 38 divided by 22 w/ 9 tooth drivers is 1.72. If you have 8 tooth drivers then you just multiply by 1.13. For example 1.72 X 1.13 is 1.94. Got it?

Madmatt ;)!

You don't have to ride very far at all to get a "Physics Refresher Course" he he

Ok Guys... Been trying to fiqure this out but need help. Last season I ran my '72 mod gp292 with either 11/25 or 12/25 and one track i dropped to a 10/25 gearing with 7 tooth drivers. This season I am building a '73 SR292 and will be running 8 tooth drivers. Leaving my 25 tooth bottom gear alone, how do I determine how to keep my ratios the same?
thanks in advance
