Ok guys....I have been on this challenge for a while now and have recieved some pointers from the best but I am still unclear of a few things...

What is required to "widen" and "long travel" my front suspention? I want it to be like my VMax....Presently I am a couple inches narrower and lest front travel....

Essentially, I would like to raise the front up a little since I find myself simply plowing/diving into the snow with the front whenever I let off the throttle....

I would be happy with simply lifting the front somehow?????????

Please...Any and all advice is appreciated...

I put a set of long travel KYBs off a 01 SXR, pulled up the front end a bunch, added after market skiis (Simmons) no more submarine.

I have heard that MODS skiis will lift your front end up about an 1" over stock, and give you better deep snow floatation.

Hey... intoodeep.....

What type of skis and can you provide a link?? (Mod??) ....What type of skis did you install and is there a link for that too....

An inch hear and there is what I need...Presently, I am a submarine...

TJ..

I put a set of long travel New Viper replacement front shocks on mine and an old XTC front end bars, made it higher and wider, then I also addes Simmons Flexi ski, awesome, no more diving. or darting.......
Here is a pic with one side done and one side stock, you can really see the difference, also the sled came up higher as i adjusted up the front springs considerable after test driving

MountainMax....

Is the stock stabilizer ok???.... It seems to bind and limit height/ travel when I lift on the bumper......It just seems as though that stabilizer bar too needs changing....

So... Do I need?...

4 control bars
2 tie rods
1 stabilizer bar with short attachment too
2 long travel shocks/ springs

I believe I can use my stock trailing arms...correct?...

If there is anything else I need please indicate so....If I don't need any of these items, please indicate so....

Yoour sled looks exactly as I want my own to appear...WIDE AND LONG on the front....

TJ500 thanks...

Not sure why you want to go wider, prob for trails I guess. If so you need to keep your sway bar. I cut mine out, sidehills waaaay better and you can throw your sled around in the deep pow like nuthin. Saves weight too.

Simmons flexi ski are simply awesome, like power steering for your sled. No darting ( its a tunnel ski 2 carbides per ski ) and carves like now.

The MODs skiis are available from mtnsledtech.com. Made in BC Canada, they aren't a tunnel skii, but are lighter and are equal to the Simmons in deeps snow plus bout 100/set cheaper. They have been known to dart, but with good setup you should be able to negate this prob.

The MODs skiis by themselves will lift your sled, I'm sure if you talk to someone who has them they will give estimate height.

yes you do need to change the sway bar 2, I used the one from an xtc same as the rods, all the parts you listed is correct, the trailing arms have a slightly different angle for the shock mount but will work.

Got the front end straight now... thanks guys.... I just need to find some salvaged front end parts... The sooner I fix this front suspension the better I can enjoy an all round performing sled....

MountainMax/ intoodeep, what gears are you running?.... I think I'm 21/40 but not sure since I haven't split the case yet....I think that was stock????

Was thinking of 22/40 or 23/40 but need input.... Just want an all round sled...not a lake rocket and not a Nasa shuttle.... I want to break trail now and then and also ride groomed trails...

any suggestions???... (I'm nearly finished my research,,, thanks)

I'm running 22/39 gears with 8 tooth drivers (antislip) and im getting about 150km/h top speed, I tried 23/39 and got 160km/h out of her, but Im gonna try 1/8 mile dragracing so Im keeping my 22/39 (PS i have a 39 non reverse gear for sale in the for sale section here) I have reverse and had to use the 39 gear.
