Firewall vs New server...

Mr. Sled,

I'm having a bit of a problem the last few days: I can't stay logged in. I can log in at the forum index, but as soon as I click on a forum I lose my log in. I re-enter my log in info, but then it takes me back to the forum index :o|

Now I realize this is an issue with my Zone Alarm firewall (when I close it down everything works normally), but I'm wondering if you (or anyone else) have any ideas what changed. I've given both totallyamaha.com and totallyamaha.net full access for 3rd party cookies and that was all I've ever needed in the past. I've never had this problem, but I can't figure out what changed...

Any thoughts/suggestions would be appreciated.

just use opera (opera.com)
, and u wont have to worry about zone alarm..
 
I used to use Opera about 5 or 6 years ago - but my wife hated it. So I've been using IE ever since.

What changed at TY? What in the world is causing this?

Mr. Sled? Anyone?
 
Zonealarm should work I used it for years and no problems. I get a free firewall now that comes with the internet provider so I dont need it any longer. I would look at your zones high med or low. Keep lowering it until it works. Then tweak it back up until it screws up and then you will know where your at with it and what causes it and how to fix it. Get your latetest updates first.
 
i've been using Zone Alarm for at least a couple years. When I first found TY, I had this problem; however, after trying a few things I granted 3rd party cookie access to totallyamah.com and it solved the problem.

This time I've lowered all the zones to low and verified that totallyamaha.com & .net have full access for 3rd party cookies - but it still doesn't work. I can keep closing it down, but it's a pain. And I tend to forget to load it up when I'm done. I was just hoping there was something obvious I was missing.

Yes, I did clean the DNS cache...

Yeah, that's what I'm doing. Every time I access TY from home, I close ZA down - but I never used to have to do that.

Maybe the littlest munchkin got in there and hosed something...

yea I saw my 4 year old girl typing with her feet one night at the computer,
she had about 7 different windows open
 
Yeah, we have a gate for that but sometimes we :wink: forget to put it up. And of course all little munchkins are equipped with radar chips that help them zone in immediately upon such mistakes...

Oddly, I'm noticing tonight that I'm not having any log in problems for the first time in a while. Unfortunately I didn't change anything so I have no idea why it's working - what they hay ;):D
