I am going to put viper front shocks on my SRX this summer and was thinking if you are able to screw off the mount at the end of the shaft like i did on my Ohlins when i installed those advant-edge extensions, the reason i ask i was thinking i could just replace the clevis still mount with a set of eye mounts off a junked pair of srx kyb's............James

no they don't just screw off like they do on the ohlins, but you can cut them off and get the srx style eyes welded on by a good welder very easily. ;)!

Ok, so does any have a junk pair of kyb srx shock, don't need springs, can be bent, even broken all i want are the eyes at the end of shafts....cheap.....James

I would focus on changing the mount bolted to the bulkhead. I think mountain performance sells a new mount that accepts the clevis mount shock. I just got done putting Rx-1 shocks on mine, but I haven't tried it out on the trail yet. The RX-1 shock has the same mount as the srx but I had to grind it down the shock width to fit in the bulkhead mount.
