There is no snow in Alberta, but thats nothing different. So, has anyone gone golfing in Las Vegas? I just looked, and its 200.00 and up for a round of golf. SO, no golf in vegas for the big guy. Is anyone else here a golfer? I use Tommy Armour 845 silver scot irons, and Kasco drivers. What do you guys use, and are you doing it now?

I hit the previous style to your 845s and love em. Hittin the old Taylor made burner driver 9deg, 3wood and Orlimar 21deg fairway metal.
Was in Lethbridge last week, and they are playin temp greens and tee boxs at Paradise on the back nine.
Go figure!

Uggh! Talking golf in January. That sucks. Anyway, there are some reasonable places to golf in the US. I took some customers to North Carolina for a NASCAR race a couple of years back and the golf was incredible. Some of the best courses in the US are there and there were so many of them it boggled the mind. We went in the off season (March) and you could get on nice courses for like $30 US. Some of the major courses were even less that $100 a round. Weather can be cool then, but still a heck of a lot warmer than here. Pain in the butt and spendy to get there tho.....
Seen something advertized this week for 5 or 7 nights in San Antonio with 5 rounds of golf for $550 per person. Sounds like a good deal, but don't know any details.
I like golfing, but I don't seem to be getting any better at it. I get out a bit with customers, but not often enough to improve my game. Maybe I'll find more time this year.........

I hit Callaway x-14 pro series irons and Orlimar metal woods. Love the Callaways, long and forgiving. I usually say I don't hit my good shots much better with these clubs, but I hit my bad shots alot better. What kind of handicap do you guys have? I think I finished golf leage this year with a 4.8 but thats only a 9 hole handicap.

whack....something or another
I can par the local course, but the best course we have here I am generally 42+, so about 6 handicap. (Mannville) I golf there a LOT, so I know the best way to play it, but golf is not a game that you can win. Not me anyway. I really want a set of KASCO irons, the Tommy's are pretty worn.

KB,
If you want to clean your grooves in your irons or woods, just pick at them with the end of a tee. Then you can soak them in soapy water if needed and clean them up. Thats what I do.

more advanced than that
no, not just to clean them, I want to make the cuts more agressive so I can get more control, backspin, etc. If you look at new high end clubs, the grooves are deep enough to cut into a ball, thats what I want.

the only way to get that deep grove you lookin for is to use forged clubs not the cast ones. You can prob try and "mod" your irons but with the cavity back style you may screw up the center of gravity ie the "sweet spot".
I tried hittin forged Ping I's at a demo day at the range once and holy chit you have to hit em near perfect everytime to gain the benefit. When you do hit it right, they are awesome!
Maybe check with professional club fitter, he/she might know some tricks.
If you need one, my buddies dad is one, he lives and works at Priddis Greens.
