Hi all,

I am helping an extrememly frugal person change out a comet clutch for his Yamaha clutch. He doesn't want to spend 15 bucks for a puller.
I may be able to have obe made at work. Could someone knowledgeable possibly draw a diagram of it, maybe I could turn down the end of the right sized bolt?

Thanks,
John

Cool Trick

jd600 - I read about this somewhere (I believe Snow Tech). Anyway, what you do is get the proper size bolt that will just thread in where the puller would go. Then just take your grease gun and pump the entire inside chamber of the clutch (where the bolt goes) full of grease. Make sure to start the tip of the grease gun way at the back against the crankshaft and, as you pump, let the grease push the gun tip out. Once the chamber is filled with grease just thread in the bolt and tighten with a ratchet. The hydraulic pressure created by the bolt tightening against the grease (incompressible fluid) will pop it off easily. Works great. I've done it many times and beats stressing your crank bearings with an impact wrench. Only drawback is you need to clean the grease out of the inside of the clutch bore.
