RE: Primary spring Help
Hey guys, im running a Comet yellow/green spring and i need a much higher engagement, but want to keep the tension the same for shift out, but the problem is the chart for the spring tensions for Comet are measured at different heights then the newer yamaha and Polaris springs, so i can't get a good cross reference...... anyone have any ideas???
http://www.royaldistributing.com/117.html is a chart to see what i mean
I heard the polaris almong/gold spring is a good choice, but im a yamaha man and am not sure.....

why not just got a comet reference chart and get a spring with a much higher preload but with the same or very similar final shift rate?

Ah, i would but the yellow/green is the stiffest they make..........that's the problem. I seen some old Comet Race springs with higher loads but they are no longer available.

try an erlanson maroon, pink, or gold. They should have a real high engagement, and you can pick the final rate depending on what you have right now. Do you know the final poundage on the comet spring?
