well, i was rounding up all the loose ends and misc. parts to the srx i'm building (still in pieces) and i just wondered how you guys keep track of all your nuts and bolts cuz them suckers all look the same sometimes!!! makes me wonder how many trips i will be making to the dealer getting this bolt, or that nut till the next missing one comes along. also, does anyone make a complete bolt and nut set for the sleds? sometimes they have a complete stainless bolt set, or titanium set, or something, and that would make it a lot easier. oh well, its inevitable i guess...

I keep them in groups, for example the chain case bolts. There are 4 the same size, when you go to put it back together. You will be able to tell that they go to a part that requires 4 bolts the same size. If the sled is going to be sitting undesturbed for awhile, I put the bolts for the right side of the sled, somewhere safe near the right side of the sled. Left side, near the left etc. Also help's to put them in sandwhich bags, to keep the correct group of bolts together, ie clutch bolts in one bag, engine bolts in another, etc.

thats exactly what i do too if i have a ton of bolts, like the whole sled apart. Labled sandwich baggies, works great. Never have any problem finding where everything goes, and no loose muffler bearings

I use coffee cans to seperate my parts and lable them with duct tape.

I use left over tupperware....or better yet gladware. It's cheap and you can write on it with a perm marker. It can also be handy down the road to store or hold other things. Stacks well too.

With a memory like mine I am forced to put specific small groups of fasteners (bolts, nuts, ties, etc.) in individual ziploc bags with a label at teardown time. This is a little tedious, but well worth it. I also do the cleaning of individual parts at teardown time now. This makes the reassembly job much easier and more efficient. It also helps to keep my hands and the area clean, as well as my focus on the reassembly. It is way more fun that way.
I have a Viper that is almost completely in bags and containers right now awaiting a tunnel change.

I often go one step further than what everyone does mentioned above. I'll take the time to put the bolts and nuts back in the vacant holes when the parts been disassembled. It takes a bit longer, but it guarantees that I'll not be hunting and pecking later on.

I drop all of mine in the bellypan and lose 50% of them.
