anyone have a picture of their or a srx hood underside? there are some plastic tabs that are useless in their and i can't remember which ones were. i remember seeing a screen put in there but no hole and i wanted to get rid of useless tabs for when i paint it. thanks!!!

are you talking about the tabs that hold the powder vent cover? There is a little black cover that goes over the clutch air duct for when you are running in powder so that snow doesn't get on the clutches and slip the belt. Are these the tabs you are referring to?

ok, well here is a pic of the hood i have i remember before when i was taking stuff off that there was one grill that didn't match up to any hole and it had foam inbetween it and the hood, which serves no purpose so i was going to remove it. i think its the tabs that are circled in yellow, or are these used for something else? also, the green boxes, on one side of the hood there is a vent and on the other there isn't. why can't i cut the other side out so that it is uniform? just curious. thanks!!!

yup, those tabs circled in yellow are to hold the powder louver cover. It is a black shield the shape of the louver on that side of the hood that you are supposed to put on when you run in powder to keep snow off of the clutches. If you don't run in powder or don't have the shield anymore, i guess you could break the tabs off, but why? What are they hurting? As for the vent(s) in the green boxes. You should be able to cut the other one open if you wanted to make it even, and it might help to flow a little more air over the clutches.

The one thats closed off is closed off to keep snow/wet stuff, off the clutches. I myself wouldnt risk cutting it open. To each his own.
