Im thinking of a standard 121" so I don't have any major mods. Anyone else know where I can find any info? tried doing a search but had no luck. Thanks, Dave

Go to the 4 stroke section and search Cat Skids and you will fine your answer. They are 121" skids on the RX1.

I have one in mine, it is a 136" 03 1M Cat skid. Works good, more transfer without track racheting. Better approach angle with more foot print touching the ground. Ride with the Cat RYDE-FX shocks is slightly better than the Yamaha skid with updated shocks. 136" verision saves approx 18 pounds, depending on which brackets you use.
Drawbacks, if track tension is incorrect there is some track slap on the loops on the front arm. (That's what they are there for though). Keep the track tension correct and it's a non-issue. Fit and finish (paint quality) isn't as nice as Yamaha's. But the skid work's and nothing has broke yet, even after some hard riding on some of the worst trail's I have ever been on.
There are some mods required, Cat tunnel is 3/16" wider then the Yamaha tunnel. I just removed 3/32" off each end of the front arm where it mounts in the tunnel, it's easy to do with a stationary belt sander. For the rear, there is enough flex at the bottom/rear of the tunnel to make up the 3/32" per side where the torque sensing links mount.
One added bonus of the Cat skid is it makes going to a 16" wide track easier, since there are no rear drop brackets to modify.

I put one in my 03 rx1 no problems at all with ride, but it did handle with a little more tippnyness,so if you mount it up into tunnell rather than out,it might handle better.
Sounds good, I think Im going to keep an eye out for one,Just missed a 03 zr 121" with 900 miles on Ebay($250ish) I will try and be patient. Would rather have an Expert X or M 10 if I can find a used one reasonably priced. My wallet isn't fat enough for a brand new one!lol Thanks for the input, Dave (just not the pro-action skids)

I put one in a MM. Bought it as a 144 and changed the rails for a 162 track and 8" rear wheels. It shaved a lot of weight of the sled and produced a package that works much better in deep snow. Trail performance was compromised a little since the yamaha skid works so well in the chop. The biggest thing is the ability to control the weight transfer. Reach under and give the front shock a couple of twists and the ski lift goes from 4" to 2" in a climb, something I could never make the yamaha skid do. I paid $350 usd for mine.
