I will be installing a Camo 9860 track with 8 tooth drivers on my 02 Viper. I will be studding it. But I'm a little worried about the studs hitting the tunnel under the gas tank. And I'm also not sure how long of a stud is OK to use. I have a buddy that has some 1.40" studs. They measure an LOA of 1.75". This seems kinda long to me. I know a bunch of you guys have done this. Any tunnel damage out there? Thanks.

as long as you still have the tunnel and all the exchanger protectors you should be ok. i would think a 1.4" stud might be getting a little on the long side once installed, but if your buddy already has them put a couple in and see how much the penetration is. I would probably go with a 1.325 or so. That should still have plenty of penetration and not be too long to put a lot of stress on the track. The 1.4" will probably be ok, like i said just put a couple in and see how far they protrude.

Yes the protectors are staying in. That 1.40" stud looks more like a railroad spike.

those are the right length studs. if you keep your track tension tight it will be fine. if you run it loose, install the taller polaris tunnel protectors. i ran mine loose last year and have a couple really light scratches on the tunnel and some rubber deposits on the protectors.

do you have a good pic of your penetration past the lugs?

no pic, but it is extremely close to .25" as accuratly as i can measure. when looking at it, it almost looks like they dont stick out much at all. btw they are extreme max studs. i know every company measures them differently. i think woodys 1.325 are the same length as mine.yamaholic22 said:do you have a good pic of your penetration past the lugs?

That's what i had in mind when i said 1.325, because i always run Woodys, and my buddy with a '04 Pro X2 with the 1.25" track ran the 1.325 woodys and they were perfect.

Hey Holic
Can you give me a length over all of those woodys 1.325?
