I have a 1997 VMAX 600 XTC.
I find that this sled backshifts very poor.
What can be done to fix this.
Also what modifications can be done to give this sled more zip.
So far I've done:
Wiseco piston kit, 96 Studs, thinner head gasket and changed the top shim on the transfer rod to 2.5mm for more weight transfer.
What else can I do?
Thanks

That thing comes with a 47 helix stock which is better for upshift. It is also geared very high (23/39) stock. Drop one tooth on the top gear and put in a progressive helix. The most commonly suggested helix for that sled is something like a 51/43 or 50/44. The gear change will probably require you to increase the primary weight a little as well. Ask VMaxJohn or Turk for specifics.
The gear change may decrease your top speed slightly but you'll get there quicker.
