I just got a used opticool gasket for my viper and looking to install it.
it is in 3 layers should a spray a coat of copper on all the layers??
or what do you think

Put a spray of copper coat on the outside two layers that mate to the head and the cylinders. This is all I do and has always worked great.

I have also done this several times and only had a failure once, but it was only a single layer on the one that failed 


I agree....I do the same thing and had one failure.
as long as the gaskets look in nice shape, no black missing, i put them on dry and have great luck,then no mess to clean up when they come apart
